I sat on my bench, lonesome but oddly happy, the first time I've felt an inkling of happiness in a while, taking slow drags while the wind blew my hair into disarray. I watched the empty quad, the occasional hungover teenager walking pass, eyes shut, head downwards. I watched as a small, green leaf, in the dead of autumn, floated by and land on the sidewalk beside me. I watched it sit there, motionless even against the blowing wind which blew away its relatives, as it kept me company for a good while.
